Buongiorno!

Good Morning!
As I have already told you on my Facebook page,
today I will make you a beautiful surprise!
Today I am very happy to have here as a guest

Minna Mercke Schmidt is a svedish blogger and I LOVE her blog
and her style. I love her vintage shabby flower compositions,
with that nordic soul and just a touch of french chic.

Minna is also a good example of how a passion, in this case
flowers and flower compositions, can become a job working
steadily and with love.
Minna quit her job to dedicate herself completely, and with
great success, to her project:
Blomsterverkstad.

e

Minna works with various magazines, she has been featured
on the svedish TV and on the svedish edition of Ikea blog, Livet Hemma.
She also wrote two books and you can see a preview of them
and

Ma ora, non siete curiosi di conoscere
un po' di più questa donna talentuosa?

And, talking about Minna's books, there is another surprise for
you all at the end of my interview with Minna! ;)
But now, I bet you are all curious to know a little more about
this talented  lady, aren't you?

Mara: How is your love for flowers arrangements born?
Minna: My mom has always had flowers at home, both indoors and outdoors. When me & family moved out to ther countryside ten years ago, my eyes opened for all the wonderful material nature has to offer - twigs, berries, cones, moss etc.

Mara: Where do you get the inspiration for your flowers garlands and decorations?
Minna: Mostly it just comes to me when I'm outdoors, I'll see nice material and want to test to make something. Colors and shapes get me started!

Mara: How will you define your style?
Minna: Nature is the most importan element in my creations. I love old things with a story and combining these two things usually are the main elements. Making the creations is not the whole thing I must add, the project is not completed before I've taken a beautiful picture (aofter a whole serie). That's how the blogging started.

Mara: You quit your job and dedicated yourself to your blog and your passion. Would you like to tell us when and how you decide to transform your blog into your job?
Minna: It was not a plan, but things just happened. The magazines started to contact me and wanted to buy my images - and the publisher wanted to make a book with me etc. When I realized that I could support my family with income from my images I quitted my job as a sales representative and started my own business. My husband promised to support me for one year so I could get the business going - but fortunately I never needed his help. I've been really fortunate! Blogging has really opened a whole new world for me, and I'm so thankful for that!

Mara: You also wrote two books which are full of amazing floral DIY projects. Which are your favourite materials to use for your projects?
Minna: Oh, that all depends on the season. Wintertime mos, twigs, cones, spring time moss as well, bulbs, eggs,  in autumn leaves, berries, moss (again!!).
